Behavior Management Plan

During my time at Hollidaysburg High School, I was guided by an outstanding mentor teacher, Mr. Scott Sheehan. Mr. Sheehan has prepared me thoroughly to succeed as a high school instrumental music teacher.

Over four months, I had the pleasure to run a concert/rehearsal cycle for three extremely talented high school ensembles. I am grateful for my full teaching placement for this reason. I was able to introduce, rehearse, and perform my selections from sightreading to concert.

In this time, I grew as an educator and person, and I learned firsthand the effort that it takes to lead a thriving music department. Whether it be a music booster meeting, giving a lesson to a festival student, or creating my four-year repertoire project, not a moment of my time at Hollidaysburg was wasted.

“During student teaching, I’ve grown immensely as a conductor. I’ve taken what I’ve learned as an undergraduate, and adapted it to be practical for high school musicians. High school students are capable of much more than they realize.“
